Home Sweet Cell, by Gwynn Tavares 2012 Story by Corey Holden and The Aether Brigade!
Why does Toppy prefer to sleep in the brig? Good Question! But that's another story...
We are currently seeking a colorist for a planned ongoing steampunk webcomic. Please feel free to color and post, just make sure to message us so we can see your work.
Coloring guide: Location - Interior, brig of the timeship "HMS Peloton", overhead track lighting from natural gas lamps. Character 1 (Silent Tom) - brown eyes, please note the color of Tom's coat in this character photo at this [link] Character 2 (Toppy) - blue eyes, [link] Prop 1 (landscape painting) - Toppy paints black bars over a gorgeous sunlit landscape of green hills. No particular color scheme but theme it "freedom"
Dialog Script:
Panel 1 text: 10 HOURS E.R.D. (Estimated Relative to Departure) Silent Tom: ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THIS? THERE'S QUARTERS SET ASIDE FOR THE PILOT, NOT TO MENTION A BERTH IN THE HELM'S ROOM.
Panel 2 Toppy: DON'T BE SILLY! THIS IS PERFECT.
Panel 3 Silent Tom: ...BUT THE PILOT'S BERTH IS SO CONVENIENT AND THE VIEW IS BREATHTAKING, LOOKING OUT OVER THE WORLD. Toppy: (off screen) DON'T LET LUCKY FIND YOU SLEEPING THERE, "CABIN BOY"!
Panel 4 Silent Tom: ARE YOU SURE I SHOULD LOCK YOU IN? Toppy: JUST REMEMBER TO LET ME OUT FOR BREAKFAST. Silent Tom: ... GOOD NIGHT THEN, TOPPY.
Hey man, I am interested in doing this, here is my take on it so far: [link]
I have a really bad internet connection right now but I am setting up a time warner cable internet right now as we speak. But anyway, the first panel only took me a little over 20 minutes playing around with different looks and stuff. Let me know what you think. Peace!
Oh and here is one of my own comic book pages: Flesh page 32: [link]
and here is some page art of Flesh page 34: [link]
* We have enough story arc planned for easily 5 entire 60 - 90 page books.
* We have about 15 scripts for stories of various lengths (from one page to 15 pages) with ideas for lots more.
* We also have storyboards for about 7 of the scripts.
* We have inks finished for only about 1.5 of them due to a big move we just had to do and are still recovering from. We will start producing more by Christmas time.
You can find out more about this in our journal. The hope is that we can collaborate and share profits once we have enough to publish. There is a whole performance troupe, fan base and support network in place already, so any colorist participating in this project is thus also supported.
At the very least, we will be actively putting your work in front of every steampunk we can find and many more besides.
It was just another 30 minutes worth of work, so its been an hour worth of work so far of just playing around with different designs and stuff.
